And suddenly we find ourselves in Hamburg. Our starting point was the Glass School in Zwiesel. The school and the local community had organised a great farewell party for us. The odds this morning were that we would only make it to Kassel, but we are better than that! Franca’s parents gave us a lift to Würzburg, and at 5 o’clock, upon noticing our pile of luggage, Michael asked where he could take us. In his rented VW convertible we got to Hanover, an uncomplicated and easy way of getting there. Our plan was to eat something at the service station, and stretch a while. However we didn’t get that far, as Franca, mid-bite, had already stopped a young lady who was just ready to leave. Katja was on her way to Lübeck, and dropped us off at a bus station in Hamburg. Meanwhile, Franca had started the search for a place to stay for the night, having contacted all of her friends; Anette Boos came to the rescue. And so we’ll carry on, but we’re really pleased that it seems fairly easy and cheap to get around.
